This is the setup I’m currently using for my daily flyer for 3.5 inch freestyle. The perfect motor prop combo for freestyle with or without the weight of a Runcam Thumb Pro. Not a poor man’s frame by any means but really well balanced in flight.
This is my CubeFPV version of this open source FPV frame supplied with battery pad and all TPU parts shown. It also features a good range of FC and VTX mount options.

A 20×20 stack is a good option for this frame. It keeps the USB port clear stand-offs. Check your FC stack height as the internal frame clearance is 20mm. When using a stack, the receiver can be mounted in the area behind the camera.
If using an AIO you can mount it the standard way in a diamond pattern or square on to keep the USB port clear of the standoff. Because of this a FC with bluetooth is a good choice.
A 1604 size motor between 3800 to 4000Kv is perfect on 4S for agressive freestyle. 1504 and 1804 motors around the same KV will also work well.
A lower pitch prop around 20 to 25 is best for this weight class and lower pitch will reduce propwash by keeping the tip speed higher.
For analog you’ll looking at a 20x20mm mount VTX. 800mw and above will give good penetration for freestyle.
RHCP is most common for analog but check your goggles antennas to make sure
For a 19mm camera, the Runcam Phoenix is the best on the market for image quality.

This frame kit doesn’t come with a battery strap. For a 4S battery you will need a 200mm long battery strap. Above there are 16mm width and 20mm width options. Either one is good.
I have always flown 3.5 inch freestyle with a ceramic SMD antenna and had no problems. They are easy to mount in this frame in the back or behind the camera. If you prefer a T antenna the options below are good budget receivers.
